RESI Resistivity Meter

The corrosion of steel in concrete is an electrochemical process which generates a flow of current and can dissolve metals. The lower the eletrical resistance, the more readily the corrosion current flows through the concrete and the greater the probability of corrosion. The metal loss is a function of time, i.e. the rate of corrosion also increases. Test documentation indicates rates of corrosion based on predictable formulas -

Investigation with the RESI Resistivity Meter and its graphical representation of measured values permits the determination of spots where corrosion may occur. The combination of resistance and potential measurement further improves the information about the condition of rebars.
