Equotip Replacement Items:

The Equotip tends to go for great lengths of time without the need for any type of service at all. When something does go wrong, it tends to be cables (which are available from stock) or one of the following -

Impact body Impact Device Support ring Connecting Cable
2 pole or 3 pole

Impact Body: The Impact Body on the D, C, D+15 and the G Impact Devices will eventually wear down. The symptoms will be a higher than tolerance reading on the test block. Your local representative will take your old body in as an exchange reducing the costs of maintaining the instrument. Do not try to take the body apart to get at the ball or it may not be accepted as a trade-in. - DL Impact bodies are now accepted as trade-ins!
Impact Device: The D Impact Device may be traded in in the same fashion as the above-mentioned bodies. Once again the costs of trading in the devices are much less than buying a new one.

Connecting Cables: The connecting cables for the Equotip disconnect from the Impact Device by sliding upwards from the coil. There are two types of cables - 3 pole (yellow in color for units purchased after 1990) - and 2 pole (black cable for pre-1990 units).

Online Calibration - Calibrate, be notified when to calibrate and recall your calibration history with this unique, powerful online utility.

Also Available: Such items as Support Rings on the devices and LCD Display on the readout module can be purchased to replace faulty ones.

After-Market

Protective Covers: The Equotip Module can be covered by a canvass cover which helps to eliminate dirt and light impacts from damaging the unit. The Device and computer terminal inputs are still accessible and the display and keypad are visible.

Automated Equostat - The Equostat measuring device (the R5) can now be implemeted in the Equomatic for fully automated testing on small parts. See Equomatic

Conversion Charts: Since 1990, the Equotip converts to Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell B, Rockwell C, and Shore internally, automatically. These conversion utilities have evolved over the years to include more metals and, most recently, even include facilities to enable users to set up their own conversion charts for applications where the standard conversions were not adequate. This feature is available on all new Equotip units and most older units can be retrofitted. You may obtain more information from your local representative concerning price. - New conversions are available for hardness to tensile strength.

Trade in on old Equotip Modules - The pre-1990's Equotip unit tends to last just about forever. It is seldom that we get 20+ year old modules that don't work or can't be fixed. Although we are proud of the service life of the instrument, we realize that the people who still use these old instruments (red, hexagon module) are not enjoying greater accuracy, better display, auto-conversion, and statistical processing. We now offer a trade in incentive to enable customers to enjoy the benefits of the new, microprocessor-based electronic module. You can still use your original impact device with the new module. Email us for your request to trade up.

Equotip Standards

The Equotip conforms to the ASTM standard "ASTM A 956-96". With this standard, the Equotip can be integrated into any quality program.
