The SVP 40 is a portable test device for instant checking of the wedging (seating and regularity) of stator windings. An automatic measuring sensor is passed along the stator slot. At set intervals the sensor strikes the wedging with an impact body and measures the rebound energy. The tighter the fit of the wedging, the higher the measured value.

The SVP 40 is a special device based on the Equotip principle. A spring loaded, tungsten-tipped impact body is propelled against the test surface. The impact and rebound velocities are inductively measured and compared resulting in a digital hardness value.
